This is a group that tears it up big time on stage. The sparse lighting, cavernous atmospherics, and riotous performance summons up the ghost of shoe-gazing at its most inspiring. Mojo magazine already picked up on the band following a typically stunning appearance at Spot Festival in Arhus, Denmark, claiming the future of Finnish music to be secure in the hands of Murmansk, defining their music as "mixing the attack of Death Valley 69 Sonic Youth with My Bloody Valentine and topping it with Julie Driscoll vocals". Murmansk has shared stage or toured so far with such acts as Liars, Kinski, A Place To Bury Strangers, dEUS, Karnivool, and Zombie Zombie. This might also give some idea what the music is all about.
