Fredator is a stunning jazz group from Finland. The debut album "Bad Jazz" was released in March 2010, receiving a lot of media attention for being a refreshing surprise as pianist Jussi Fredriksson released an album as the drummer.
Mr Fredator tells about the project; “I wanted the sound of the band to be colourful, and the soloists to bring contrasting elements to the music. Saxophonist Mikko Innanen has the modernist spirit, while retaining a great sense of the jazz tradition. Kalevi Louhivuori is a stunning virtuoso on his instrument, playing the role of a trumpet hero. Pianist Aki Rissanen’s unique sound adds intellectual colors to the music without ever losing forward momentum. An excellent swinging bassist Petri Jaakonaho keeps Fredators roots firmly in the ground.“
