Urmas Sisask
***
Composer Urmas Sisask seeks his inspiration from astronomy but also from Christian traditions and shamanistic practices. A large amount of his work is bonded with Jäneda Manor, where in 1994 the Musical Observatory Tower was founded. In addition, Sisask opened a self-made planetarium. Urmas Sisask graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatoire in 1985. Choral works and piano compositions with festive vocal opuses form the most essential part of his oeuvre. Heartfelt melodies and repeating idiosyncratic harmonic motives have earned him success in many European countries. Over 40 discs of his music can also be found in Australia and Japan.
